Food project
What Is In Your Food and What Is It Doing To You.
Corn is in everything. Corn and corn by-products can be inhaled, ingested and contacted through your skin. These are the products that have processed corn in them baby foods, brewed beverages (bourbon, beer, ale), carbonated beverages, prepared cereals, condiments (sauces, dressings), chewing gum, fastings and icing instant coffee, candy, ice cream, marshmallows, pickles, peanut butter, frozen seafood, table salt, canned vegetables, margarine, stamps envelopes, stickers, tape, aspirin, baby powder, paper cups, tooth paste, and chalk. Are you shocked yet? If not keep on reading. (Great Smoky Medical Center). Processed corn, which is in most fast food is impacting America's health in a negative way.
There are many unhealthy ingredients in fast food. One of those ingredients is high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), and how it came around was when two guys in 1957 were trying to make a substitute for natural sugar and wanted a product that was cheaper. HFCS gives you fatty liver because like natural sugars 100% goes to liver which gives you fatty liver. We should start getting rid of HFCS for good and it will change our diet drastically and we should change it back. Corn is made into high fructose corn syrup which gives diseases and has negative health effects to us. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a substitute for natural sugar and it is much worse also. It is in most foods because it is cheaper than the natural sugar and it is easier to make. Some of the dangers of HFCS are dementia, Cancer, and High blood pressure. “A lot of arrows are pointing at sugar and HFCS that are causing some pretty wacky metabolism that did not exist”(Elissa Epel, Center For Obesity Assessment Study and Treatment, University Of California, San Francisco). Since it is not a natural sugar it takes longer to digest in the liver (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a4Z7W5x1pY). When it takes longer to digest and you eat more HFCS with it you can develop a fatty liver. Fatty liver is caused by obesity in people and it can lead to increased heart disease. (http://www.webmd.com/hepatitis/fatty-liver-disease) We already know that fast food causes obesity and fatty liver it also causes some more diseases like hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and acidic diet. Hypertension is very very high blood pressure and stress all the time and it is caused by clogging of the arteries due to high salt intake. ("Causes of High Blood Pressure: Weight, Diet, Age, and More"). An acidic diet “is anything but balanced. The mass consumption of meat, grains and processed foods causes the body to become overly acidic, which strips it of minerals”. ("Easy Ways to Balance an Acidic Diet”). Corn and corn by-products are in everything. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is the worst of anything that is corn. The liver digests HFCS and turns it into fat not energy. HFCS cause these disease hypertension, type 2 diabetes, acidic diet dementia, Cancer, and High blood pressure. A high concentration of HFCS exists in fast food products. Do your best to avoid HFCS and fast food in general. |
This fun project because we get to work with food and the only hard part about this project was the writing but it was not as hard as an other writing project that I ever had so I am over come my dyslexia. I want to do this project again.

What we did in this project was that we had to figure out what is in are food and what it dose to us.
Macbeth Reflection
My role in the play Macbeth. I had many roles I was in the lighting/stage group. The next role that I did was two characters and they were Donalbane and the Messenger.
Well how I connected to this project was through Shakespeare’s work. What did I enjoy the most out of the project was doing the project and everything that was with the project. What was the most memorable moment in this project was doing the lights at the end of the play.
The most difficult thing for me was the reading of Macbeth. What was the most challenging thing was the reading. The part I had to persevere through was the reading.
What I learned about myself in this project, was that I thought that I hated Shakespeare but it turns out that I love it and that it is very interesting. I love being an actor it is a lot of fun reading the words from the famous and great Shakespeare. That I might study him some more.
After 400 hundred years Shakespeare is still famous. What I think is that it might be boring/old but when you study it, watch it and maybe make your own play you will think differently about it. If there is more people studying it there might be different kinds of plays and movies.

To see my storyWhat makes an engaging book cover? Have least three main colors. Make the text go complement the picture. Makes the book stand out from the others. How is the book a vehicle for communication? It drows the persons to the book. Makes you look at the name and image. Work of art on the viewers point of view? Makes the book comportment the book and text. Makes the person wont to read it. That is what makes a good book |
